How to install ZenCart: Part II
For this tutorial it is recommended that you are connected to the Internet, browsing the internet with Firefox and have FileZilla installed.
To upload the files you unzipped to your web host, you will need the following:
- An FTP program (I like FileZilla – see my tutorials for it here)
- Your FTP information as provided by your web host (this is usually yourdomain.com or ftp.yourdomain.com, your username and a password)
Open your FTP program (I will be using FileZilla for this tutorial) and connect to your domain using your FTP information.
To the top left side, find your ZenCart files listed under Desktop:

To the top right side, open up your website to the folder you wish to upload ZenCart to. cPanel users, first double-click on the folder public_html and then open the folder you want to upload the files to (example: /store/).

Once you have all the folders open, you will want to move all of the ZenCart files on your computer to your web host.
First, in the bottom left box, highlight all the ZenCart folders and files by clicking on the top folder displayed once and then holding the “ctrl” and “shift” keys clicking on the last file displayed (see below).

Now, hold down your mouse on the left side and DRAG these files over to the bottom right side, into the folder you have opened on your web host.
FileZilla will start moving the files over automatically. If you do not see this happening, first check to see if the files to the left are still highlighted. If they are, attempt top drag them over again. If they are NOT highlighted or you cannot get your files to drag over, please contact me for further help.
Once the files are finished uploading, you will need to open your internet browser to finish the install.
