When I stopped running my own server over the summer, I switched my main website (along with most of my web hosting clients) over to The Host Group.
The support is quick and friendly. I absolutely love the control panel (I used the same one on my own server), it is very user-friendly and completely automated.
One of the first decisions my clients, who plan on selling products online, have to decide is which shopping cart solution will be best for their website.
Many of my clients working with a limited budget choose to use Mals-e free shopping cart. This option is free and includes a secure connection to accept credit card payments.
You simply visit their website, sign-up for a free account and start adding snippets of code to your website and your online store is ready to accept orders. Mals-e includes an easy-to-use online admin area where you can edit the colors of the shopping cart, personalize email invoices, manage orders, etc.
The main downside to using this cart is that you either have to have HTML knowledge to add the code to your web pages, or you have to pay someone who does to do it for you.
Understanding different image file types …
BMP = Windows Bitmap files
This image file was designed by Microsoft for storing images, most Windows based programs can read bitmap files. BMP files can have color depths of 1, 4, 8 or 24-bits - note that 24 bit BMP files can be pretty large. I do not recommend you use BMP files for web use, they can slow down your page considerably.
Before I post links to websites where you can download fonts, I want you to remember that while there are a lot of really cool looking fonts out there, please choose your font wisely. Especially if you plan on using the font on a business website.
When designing a logo for your business, choose a font that is easy to read. If a visitor cannot read your logo, they won’t be able to read your business name. If they cannot read your business name, how will they remember it?
